Topics/skills: Speaking exercise/ listening exercise all in one. Argumentative conversations about the effects (or consequences) of social media. 

feedback: Good conversation today. Dojun needs to work on his ability to have a natural conversation. Overall though, his ideas were concise! Great session today. Two more to go... It's been a really awesome couple of weeks. 

lessons learned: I learned a lot about South Korea's usage of social media, apparently they use as much as we do in the US but they have a more refined opinion on how it is supposed to be used. I believe that Dojun is familiar with how intense social media is in the US.

  Date/Time: Monday 1/25 Location: Zoom Topic/Skill: Reading & Poetry part II Feedback provided to tutee: Pronunciation corrections, new vocabulary, and explanations for poems when misunderstood Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned:  Some of the poems I picked ended up being inappropriate because they used Old English or were at a lower reading level than my tutee's so I am learning more about finding level-appropriate materials. It seems EFL/ESL students tend to be very good at listening and reading but struggle with writing and speaking so I will try to find more activities that focus on developing those skills.

 Date/Time: Wednesday 1/20 1:00-1:50 Topic/Skill: Speaking Teacher presentation: Asking questions out of an activity book Classroom management: A lot of error correction on pronunciation and repetition of questions Materials: pdf textbook provided by instructor Student Participation: Took turns answering questions about themselves Feedback provided: corrected pronunciation and vocabulary mistakes Lessons on teaching you learned: I learned that sometimes you have to get creative when asking questions of students. This can include hand motions, repetition, rephrasing, and other means to make your questions clear and understandable. I also loved that this instructor was having fun while teaching!
