Date/Time:Friday 2/19
Location: Zoom
Topic/Skill: American music history | reading, listening, and culture
Feedback provided to tutee: Pronunciation corrections and clarification of American traditions like Saturday fish fries and Mardi Gras
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: I learned that separating text into smaller chunks and using interactive or visually pleasing formats like animated webpages helps students process and remember the material much better. I also frequently repeated vocabulary my tutee found difficult to pronounce (e.g. "genre") and she was able to better pronounce it after a few times hearing it and saying it herself. Practicing proper pronunciation is just as important as hearing the proper pronunciation.
