Feedback provided to tutee: Paola and I went through a PowerPoint I created. She learned new vocabulary words and we worked on her pronunciation as well. I would pronounce it again and enunciate when the pronunciation was unclear. We also went over her writing planning together. I didn't focus on grammar or length but instead guided her and provided feedback by working on the outline with her after her first attempt.
Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee learned: I used a PowerPoint with vocabulary relevant to college settings. For example, transcript, GPA, scholarship, registrar. I tried to include a mix of words she knew, as well as introduce some new ones. We discussed form and prepared an outline template together. She then added to the outline after we spoke. She did 15 minutes of free writing in the beginning but after the lesson said she wanted to attempt it again. She did another 15 minutes and wrote two whole paragraphs using new vocabulary and proper grammar. We will revisit this next time and add more content, as well as review grammar.
